Dr Linsey Gani is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist practicing in LG Endocrinology, Novena Medical Center. She also holds an appointment as a visiting consultant with the Department of Endocrinology, Changi General Hospital, Singapore. Dr Gani graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 where she was a Dean’s Honor’s List awarded the RACP ( Royal Australian College of Physicians ) Clinical Prize and RACS ( Royal Australian College of Surgery ) Smith and Nephew’s Surgical prize. She is an accredited endocrinologist and a fellow with the Royal Australian College of Physician and Academy of Medicine in Singapore. She has completed a Masters of Public Health in health care management and public policy at the Harvard School of Public Health. Her areas of interest include diabetes, metabolic bone diseases, chronic disease management, public policy and health care models. She was the director of the Eastern Community Health Outreach ( ECHO) screening program. She has set up the Osteoporosis Liaison Service in Changi General Hospital to provide secondary fracture prevention to patients admitted with fragility hip fracture.
She was a Clinical Senior Lecturer with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) and a Clinical Assistant Professor with Duke-NUS. She was also part of the clinical core faculty member for the Singhealth Endocrinology Residency Program and a member of the Endocrinology Residency Assessment Committee . Dr Gani was the recipient of the Singhealth Outstanding Faculty award in 2021 and the Faculty Appreciation Award in 2024. She also won the NUHS ( National University Hospital of Singapore ) Education Collaboration award 2021.
Dr Gani is also an active clinical researcher who has published many of her works in peer-reviewed journal and is on the reviewer board of many high ranking journals such as “Diabetes Obesity and Metabolism “, “Acta Diabetologia “, “Scientific Reports , Nature “etc. Dr Gani also regularly participates in many regional conferences where she lectures and teaches courses on Bone Health and Diabetes.
Dr Gani brings with her a wealth of global clinical experience. She completed her residency training in Melbourne Australia in the Austin and Repatriation Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. She completed a bone metabolic preceptorship in Columbia University Medical Centre, New York as well as a clinical observership in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre Boston , USA. She also undertook a research fellowship with the Asian Diabetes Foundation ( Chinese University Hong Kong) where she worked with the Joint Asian Diabetes Evaluation ( JADE ) program.
She published the first study looking into the utilization of biosimilar insulin in Asia and its implications of diabetes management. For this work, she was invited to speak as faculty in the HK Congress of the Asian Pacific Society of Atherosclerosis and Vascular Diseases in 2016, International Diabetes Federation PRIMER in Bangalore 2016, Biosimilar expert forum in Bangkok in 2017, Indonesian Diabetes Leadership Summit in Jakarta in 2017.
Dr Gani was the principal investigator for research involving hip fractures and atypical femoral fractures , she leads the CGH department in initiating research into genetics of atypical femoral research in collaboration with the Genome Institute of Singapore ,A Star. She was also the Co-I for NMRC funded grant for multidisciplinary intensive targeted care in improving diabetes. She is alsothe Co-I for a large multinational multicenter research on the Asian Diabetes Outcomes Prevention Trial ( ADOPT).
She is also committed to the education of trainees as well as the health professional community. She was the course director for the Osteoporosis Management Course, a Singapore Skills Future funded course in collaboration with the NUS Div of Graduate Medicine from 2020-2021. This course was awarded the NUHS Collaboration awards in 2021. She continues to chair the Osteoporosis Management Course which is conducted regularly to health professionals through the Osteoporosis Society of Singapore. She was also the vice chairperson of the scientific committee in Asian
Federation of Osteoporosis Societies scientific meeting in 2022. Dr Gani also regularly participates in Singhealth CME talks for polylcinics on Diabetes and Osteoporosis management.
Dr Gani was also actively involved in undergraduate education as a clinical assistant professor with Duke NUS and a clinical senior lecture with YLL NUS, she has been the MBBS examiner for graduating medical students since 2016 and lectures medical students on a regular basis.
She is the current vice president of the Osteoporosis Society of Singapore where she continues to regularly initiate community and public health activities to spread the awareness of Bone health in Singapore. Her philosophy in care provision of her patients is understanding each individual as a unique individual and delivering excellent quality health care that is genuine, compassionate and meaningful to each person. She is excited to be able to help her patients achieve their healthcare goals together and sow seeds to a better health.
