Dr Lim Ang Tee graduated in 2003 from the National University of Singapore. He obtained his Master of Sports Medicine in 2009 and Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) in 2012 and is dually accredited as a sports medicine physician by the Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board, as well as a family physician by the Singapore Family Physician Board.
Practicing both in SSMC@ Novena and at SSMC@CGH, he has a keen interest not only in Sport and Exercise Medicine but also in community health, chronic disease management and disability sports. He was the Chief Medical Officer for the World University Floorball Championships in 2014, and also on the medical team for the Southeast Asian Games and the ASEAN Paragames in 2015 when it was held in Singapore. In 2016, Dr Lim was appointed the Chief Team Physician for Team Singapore during the Rio Paralympics. Other than these appointments in Sports Medicine, Dr Lim is a designated workplace doctor, a Lasting Powers of Attorney certificate issuer and also on the panel of assessors for disability assessment for Eldershield application.
Dr Lim is the Director of Research for Exercise is Medicine, Singapore (EIMS), an affiliate of the American College of Sports Medicine that promotes exercise as a treatment for patients with chronic diseases. He has also served in various inter-governmental committees for both Sports Medicine and Family Medicine, including the Secretariat of the National Sports Safety Committee in 2014 and the Ministry of Health Sub-Committee for Family Medicine Centre during its inception in 2012. Currently, he sits on the executive committee of the Sports Medicine Association of Singapore, and is also co-chairing the Sports Event Medical Coverage Sub-committee of the National Sports Safety Committee. As a keen educator, he is a tutor for both the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine (GDFM) Programme and the Master in Medicine (Family Medicine) Programme, and is currently on the panel of advisors for Family Medicine Continual Medical Education programme.
His sporting interests are in Wushu and Muay Thai, having been with the National Wushu team during his school days. As a budding harpist, he also has a special interest in the musculoskeletal injuries of musicians and performing artists.
