Dr Jared Ng

Dr Jared Ng is a compassionate and experienced senior consultant psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience dedicated to improving access to mental health services and providing exceptional patient care. He is the founder and medical director of Connections MindHealth. With expertise in child and adolescent mental health, general psychiatry, and community psychiatry, Dr Ng provides tailored, high-quality care for various mental health issues. He completed his medical studies at the National University of Singapore and holds a Master of Medicine in Psychiatry and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Harvard University. His advanced training includes an attachment to Boston Children’s Hospital under the MOH HMDP scholarship, focusing on inpatient service and consultation liaison. Dr Ng has served as a military psychiatrist for the Singapore Armed Forces and participated in humanitarian missions, including a deployment to Afghanistan. He was the founding Chief of the Department of Emergency and Crisis Care at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), pioneering crucial advancements in emergency psychiatric services. Additionally, he has served as the consultant-in-charge of the child and adolescent inpatient service at IMH and directed community mental health and crisis response programs in Singapore. Dr Ng is also a passionate advocate for population mental health and community engagement. He actively participates in community outreach programs and educational initiatives, aiming to raise awareness and promote mental well-being across all demographics. His dedication to mental health education and support extends beyond clinical settings, impacting communities both locally and internationally.
