Prior to entering private practice, she served at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she led the Women’s Mental Wellness Service and the Ministry of Health–funded Psychological Resilience in Antenatal Management initiative. As a young specialist, she was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme scholarship for advanced training in perinatal psychiatry at King’s College London. These roles allowed her to work closely with individuals and families during some of their most emotionally vulnerable stages of life.

Dr Chua is committed to providing care that is both evidence-based and deeply respectful of each person’s circumstances. She has contributed to national clinical practice guidelines and published research in perinatal and women’s mental health, ensuring that the care she provides is grounded in well-established medical knowledge. She has also taught and trained many other medical professionals and regularly contributes to public education through national media. Over the years, she has received national recognition for the quality of her clinical care and teaching.

Dr Chua’s patients value her thoughtful, collaborative approach. She takes time to understand each person’s unique background, goals, and life context, and works together with her patients to develop treatment plans that are appropriate, practical, and supportive.
