Dr Lee Kae Meng Thomas

Dr Thomas Lee is the medical director and consultant psychiatrist at The Resilienz Clinic.

An experienced addiction specialist in addictive disorders including alcohol, drug, gambling and sex addictions, Dr Lee uses a combination of medications and therapy in a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to the needs of each individual to achieve the best treatment outcome.

Besides addiction psychiatry, he has extensive clinical experience in treating various psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, insomnia and psychosis. He is also experienced in providing expert psychiatric opinion for forensic and medico-legal cases.

Dr Lee received his basic medical degree and Master of Medicine in Psychiatry from the National University of Singapore. He is a certified substance abuse and gambling addiction counsellor, and a certified clinical supervisor in addiction counselling.

He was a former head of the Addiction Medicine Department at the Institute of Mental Health. Dr Lee presently serves as a visiting consultant at the National Addictions Management Service and Changi General Hospital. He is an executive committee member of the Association of Professionals Specialising in Addiction Counselling.

In 2007, he was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship by the Ministry of Health for training in gambling addiction treatment at the University of California, Los Angeles. He helped to develop the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Prescribing of Benzodiazepines in 2008. In 2011, he led the development of the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Management of Gambling Disorders.”
