Our Doctors
Dr Hong Lin Feng
Dr Hong Lin Feng is a psychiatrist with a special focus on Child & Adolescent Mental Health and Women’s Mental Health. Her interest in psychiatry began early in medical school, where she authored case reports exploring the complex links between mind, body and environment. She completed her psychiatry residency in Singapore between 2016 and 2020, receiving broad training across multiple subspecialties. From 2020 to 2025, Dr Hong served as a psychiatrist at the Department of Psychological Medicine, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she provided care for children, teenagers, and women across the life stages. In her work with young people, she collaborated closely with families, schools, and community organisations to strengthen recovery and resilience. Within women’s mental health, she supported patients experiencing mood changes related to menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum and menopause, as well as those coping with pregnancy loss, trauma or serious illness. Her clinical style is compassionate and family-centred, grounded in respect for each individual’s story and circumstances. Committed to continuous learning, Dr Hong has undertaken further training in Family-Based Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Infant Mental Health, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Circle of Security approaches. These enhance her ability to work systemically with patients and families, addressing the relational aspects of mental wellbeing. Beyond clinical care, Dr Hong is an active educator and mentor. She was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and served as Associate Program Director for the NHG Psychiatry Residency Program at KK Hospital, guiding psychiatry trainees and allied health professionals. She also led mental-health education initiatives for paediatricians and spearheaded the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Symposium (2023), fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Her research interests lie in women’s mental health and perinatal psychiatry. She has led and published studies on postnatal depression and perinatal telehealth, including “The Postnatal Depression Intervention Program: A 10-Year Review” and “Perinatal Mental Telehealth: A Singaporean Experience Born in COVID-19.” As Principal Investigator for “How Maternal Mental Health Shapes the Prenatal Journey,” she continues to contribute to advancing care and policy in maternal mental health. At the core of her work is a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care that recognises the importance of autonomy, family involvement, and holistic wellbeing. She strives to create a safe environment where patients feel supported, families feel engaged, and meaningful recovery can take place.
