Dr Rajesh Jacob
Dr Rajesh Jacob completed his MBBS degree from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India in 1996 following which he completed his post graduate degree, MD psychiatry from Madras Medical College.
He then worked as a lecturer in Department of Psychiatry, Christian Medical College for close to 4 years following which he moved to the United Kingdom. Christian Medical College, Vellore is rated as one of the top medical schools in India and Asia and is a tertiary centre of clinical and academic excellence.
Dr Jacob obtained his certificate of completion of specialist training (CCST) from the UK in 2004 and worked as a consultant psychiatrist in general adult psychiatry for 5 years and was also involved in forensic work during his employment with Cheshire and Wirral NHS Trust and Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Trust in England. He is fully registered with the General Medical Council (UK) as a specialist.
He then moved to Singapore in 2009 and worked as a consultant psychiatrist in department of general psychiatry and forensic psychiatry in Institute of Mental Health (IMH) for the past 6 years.
Dr Jacob was appointed as an adjunct assistant professor for the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and NUS-Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore and was actively involved in teaching medical students and was an examiner for both the medical schools. Dr Jacob was also actively involved in psychiatry post graduate training in Singapore and was supervisor for the residents in psychiatry.
He has numerous publications in local and international indexed journals.
Dr Jacob’s areas of interest are general adult psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He has done numerous forensic reports for the courts and lawyers and given evidence in both the state courts and the high court in Singapore.
